The Community Service Award honors an individual or individuals who have shown outstanding community service through their good works, exemplary volunteer service, compassion, and involvement with the American Textile History Museum (ATHM) and the community.
The 2010 recipient of the Community Service Award was Brenda Costello, whose leadership, generosity, and commitment to cultural and civic organizations in the Greater Lowell area have had a tremendous and positive impact on our museum and our entire community’s cultural and educational foundation.
From 2000 to 2010 the award was given annually at the ATHM Gala. The 2012 Gala is scheduled for Friday, November 2, honoring Newell Flather, a former member of the ATHM Board of Trustees and president of the Theodore Edson Parker Foundation in Boston.
