Textile Merit Badge (3 ½ - 4 hrs.)

Our educators are registered BSA Textile Merit Badge counselors. Scouts should bring their blue cards for sign-off by their instructor at the end of the program. Our program fulfills all requirements needed to complete the badge (#1, 2A,B,C,D, 3A,C,D, 4,5,6), including defining and discussing textile terminology and the importance of textiles, identifying characteristics of textile fibers, and learning about how textiles are processed, ecological concerns, and modern career options. This is a FUN program which also includes lots of hands-on activities like trying to weave on a table loom, knitting, examining with magnifying glasses, and making felted hackey sacks to take home.
